Terms & Conditions

1.    Introduction
These terms and conditions outline the agreement you, the customer, make with us “Brighouse Ultrasound Ltd” when you book a scan appointment on our website and attend for a scan appointment. Brighouse Ultrasound Ltd is a service that offers pregnancy ultrasound scans “the scan”. These are booked on the website brighouseultrasound.com.

2.    Payment
•    The price of the scan will be the price stated on the Brighouse Ultrasound website at the time of booking online. 
•    Payment shall be made in full at the time of booking the appointment
•    We will confirm your booking by email.

3.    Consent 
•    A consent form must be fully completed and signed prior to the scan. 
•    Our service is only available to customers 18 years of age or above. Please do not book a scan if you are aged under 18. The sonographer may ask to see ID if it is suspected you are under 18. The scan will not be performed to any person under 18 and this will result in loss of payment if a scan has been booked.

4.    Appointment Times and Duration
•    The stated appointment duration includes time to complete paperwork prior to the scan and to complete the report and print or send images following the scan.
•    Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time. Late arrivals may result in a shortened appointment or cancellation.
•    Please email or send us a message if you expect to be late. While we will make every effort to accommodate you, the sonographer reserves the right to cancel your appointment if your late arrival prevents the scan from being completed within the allotted time. In such cases, the cost of the scan will be lost. 
•    Clinics may run over due to unexpected findings or unforeseen circumstances, therefore there may be delays to the appointment start time.

5.    Service Provided
•    Brighouse Ultrasound does not provide any midwifery care or advice. 
•    You will be provided with a scan report which can then be interpreted by your midwife or doctor. It is not the responsibility of the clinic to plot the Estimated Fetal Weight or interpret these results as they are individual for every person. 
•    The clinic does not have access to your medical or pregnancy records. You are responsible for providing any relevant medical information. 
•    You are responsible for providing the correct email address to receive your scan images when attending for 4D scan.

 

6.    Cancellations
•    You may cancel your appointment with at least 24 hours notice. Less than 24 hours notice will result in a loss of the cost of the scan.
•    No-shows will result in a loss of the cost of the scan.
•    You can reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours notice. Less than 24 hours notice will result in a loss of the cost of the scan.
•    Rescheduled appointments are subject to availability. 
•    Brighouse Ultrasound reserves the right to cancel or reschedule appointments, aiming to give you as much notice as possible and we will provide a full refund if the appointment cannot be rescheduled.

7.    Behaviour/ Conduct
•    We reserve the right to refuse to scan or allow in an accompanying person if their behaviour is inappropriate.

8.    Limitations of Ultrasound
•    Ultrasound is unable to detect every abnormality 
•    Factors such as fetal size and positioning can affect image quality, therefore gender identification cannot be 100% guaranteed. 

​

9.    Referrals
•    If our sonographer recommends a referral as a result of the scan, Brighouse Ultrasound will refer you to an appropriate NHS care provider for review or further investigation with your consent.

10.    Re-Scans
•    It is at the sonographer’s discretion whether a re-scan will be offered. 
•    For the Wellbeing and Gender or Growth and Gender scans, one free rescan will be offered if we are unable to determine the gender. 
•    For the 4D scan, one free rescan (if first scan booked before 32 weeks of pregnancy) will be offered if the baby is not in a favourable position at the first scan and images cannot be obtained. 
•    Re-scans are not offered for early pregnancy scans, wellbeing or growth scans as these are unaffected by factors such as fetal position.

11.    Limitation of Liability
Brighouse Ultrasound will not be responsible or liable for any incidental or consequential loss or damage:  
•    Caused by any act or omission by Brighouse Ultrasound or its employees, servants or agents 
•    Suffered by any person acting or failing to act as a result of the contents of any scan or any information supplied in connection with the scan. Nothing in this clause shall exclude or restrict any liability for death or personal injury arising from the negligence of Brighouse Ultrasound. Brighouse Ultrasound will not be responsible for any breach of this contract caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

12.    Accessibility
•    Please advise on booking if you will require extra support, a chaperone or an interpreter. 
•    Our clinic room is on the ground floor, however it is accessed from the street via a step. Our toilet is on the first floor, accessed by stairs only. If you have a disability please call us before booking to discuss requirements.

13.    Miscellaneous 
•    Filming and photography is strictly prohibited within the scan room. 
•    Brighouse Ultrasound is not liable for any loss or damage to personal belongings brought onto the premises, regardless of the cause.

14.    Privacy Policy
•    We will only use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy which is available on our website. Please read this prior to your Appointment. 
•    If referring you to an NHS service we will do this with your consent and will involve providing them with your personal details.
•    Brighouse Ultrasound can use your anonymised scan images for marketing and social media purposes.

15.    Changes to Terms and Conditions
•    We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website.

16.    Acknowledgement
•    By proceeding with your booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Booking Terms and Conditions.
